Free PHP hosting
Upload index.php, open your project URL and run your code. You can add MySQL if the application needs a database.
What you can host
nysr.host runs PHP 8.1. Use it for small applications, forms, page templates or coursework. Each project has its own PHP-FPM pool and a subdomain such as my-project.nysr.host.
Upload through the file manager or SFTP. Put index.php at the project root, alongside the folders and files it uses. If the default index.html is still there, remove it when you want PHP to be the homepage.
Forms
Validate submissions in PHP and save them in MySQL when needed.
Page templates
Share navigation and layouts between pages with PHP includes.
Small applications
Publish a catalogue, notes app or a simple class exercise.
How to publish it
Create and verify your account
Register with your email and confirm the verification link. New accounts require confirmation that you are at least 13.
Choose a project name
Create the project in your dashboard. The project name becomes its nysr.host subdomain.
Upload the PHP entry file
Upload index.php and its assets into the project root. Preserve the folder structure used in your links and includes.
Test the public response
Open the project URL, submit test inputs and check the result. Add MySQL only if your application needs it.
Example file
<?php
$heading = 'My first PHP website';
?>
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>My PHP project</title>
<h1><?= htmlspecialchars($heading, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8') ?></h1>
<p>This page is generated by PHP.</p>
</html>Example only — replace placeholders before using it.
Before you upload
- Check that your application supports PHP 8.1 and the available extensions. A framework may need configuration beyond uploading its source folder.
- PHP has memory, execution and worker limits. Mail, network and system-execution functions are restricted by project policy.
- You do not get root access or a permanent background worker. Check the limits page before choosing the service for a heavy workload.
- Your account has 5 GiB of file storage, shared across its projects. Keep a copy of your work on your own computer.
- This is shared hosting for small projects. For the full resource limits, see the limits page.
Common questions
Do I need a database to use PHP?
No. PHP can generate pages without a database. Add MySQL when you need to retain records between requests.
Can I upload without Git?
Yes. Use the browser file manager or enable SFTP for the project. A Git repository is not required for that workflow.
Will every PHP framework work unchanged?
No blanket compatibility is promised. Check its runtime, extension, directory, dependency and worker requirements against the shared-hosting environment.
